Improved Lighting & Energy Savings

It's Easy Being Green!

Rocky Mountain Power

A-C Electric Inc. is a proud partner with Rocky Mountain Power in their innovative energy conservation project called the Lighting Energy Efficiency Alliance. As one of select few original Electrical Contactors chosen to participate, we have helped our customer base improve their facility lighting platform and save thousands of dollars in energy expense in the process.

Lighting Retrofit Can Save You Money

As funny as it may sound, Rocky Mountain Power (RMP) is willing to give you a financial incentive to use less energy. If you retrofit your current lighting to more energy efficient lamps and electronic ballasts, RMP will pay for a portion of the cost to do so. They pay for a portion of the change, and you save money every month on your electric bill. Plus you provide better light for your employees and customers, increasing productivity and sales.

Why are they doing this? RMP believes that it is more cost effective to provide incentives to conserve energy than to construct new electricity generating facilities. Decreasing demand extends their capacity, ensuring a healthy energy supply for the region's future growth. Eventually, this offer will expire.

If you are interested, here is what you have to do. Once you give us permission, we survey your facility and count up all the different types and quantities of lighting you have. We need a copy of your power bill, and your signature on a "Letter of Intent". The letter simply states your interest in this program, and that all information will remain confidential if requested. It is not a letter of obligation. We take our fixture counts back to our office, fill out an incentive application and pass that on to RMP. We come back to you with some lighting suggestions, an estimate of the cost to upgrade your lighting, RMP's incentive amount, an estimate of monthly savings, and a payback timeframe.

If you like what you see, we have you sign an "Incentive Agreement" with RMP. Depending on the size of incentive and project, RMP may request a "Pre-Installation Inspection" to verify counts. We then come in and swap out the lighting. We give you an invoice for the change. We send a copy of that invoice, along with some other information to RMP. They will send you a check within 45 days of receipt. That's really all there is to it.

The result is that not only are you saving money on your power bill, you enhance your employees' comfort, productivity, and efficiency with better lighting. If this sounds like something you are interested in looking into, please give Paul May a call to set up a free no-obligation appointment to review your options.
